Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida seeks an HIM Specialist to support the Health Information Management department by ensuring the accurate, secure, and timely processing of medical records. This role involves organizing, analyzing, maintaining, and retrieving patient health information in compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Vocational/Technical training or diploma may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Associate’s degree or higher preferred where applicable.
• Bachelor’s degree may be required for some roles.
• Master’s degree may be required for certain supervisory positions.
• Other education or certifications relevant to HIM may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Process requests for information and ensure confidentiality in accordance with hospital policy.
• Organize, analyze, maintain and retrieve patient health information.
• Ensure records are complete and audit-ready and compliant with regulatory standards.
