Job summary

Asian Health Services is seeking a Health Information Manager (HIM) to lead supervision of Referrals and Medical Records across clinical sites. You will set priorities, assign cases, and work with EHR and Operations teams to optimize referrals, e‑referrals, and tracking while ensuring policy compliance and timely reporting.

The role requires supervision experience, a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree, and strong understanding of HIPAA and health information standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Prior supervisory experience required.
• Bilingual language ability is advantageous for staff and patients.
• Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Structure and maintain an efficient referrals system across sites to support providers and timely follow‑through.
• Direct referral staff and assist patients with paperwork and processes for referrals.
• Ensure timely processing, documentation, and communication of referrals per provider notes.
• Update changes in referral requirements and coordinate with staff and managers.
• Monitor timeliness and metrics of referral processes and improve performance.
• Provide regular and ad hoc reports as needed.
• Collaborate with leadership to establish and maintain protocols.
• Oversee data entry into the EHR system and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Prioritize workflow to meet turnaround times for patient data.
• Assist with policy development and tools for quality reporting.
