Job summary

Covenant Living at the Holmstad in Batavia, IL is seeking a Health Information Coordinator to supervise the health information department and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines. Duties include maintaining resident records, audits, and coordinating with physicians for complete health documentation.

The role requires high school diploma or equivalent, with a preferred associate’s degree and 2+ years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and problem solving skills are required.
• Ability to read and understand medical documentation.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare health records and rooms for new admissions according to policies.
• Maintain census and registers for admissions and discharges.
• Audit records for timeliness and completeness; inform staff of deficiencies.
• Obtain signed discharge summaries and other information to complete health records.
• Assemble contents of closed records and maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Schedule appointments and transportation for residents; coordinate with physicians.
