Datavant is seeking an Health Information Specialist I in North Carolina to process patient information requests, safeguard records, and ensure HIPAA compliance. This on-site role entails handling papers and electronic records, answering calls, and supporting intake and administrative tasks in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to commute between locations as needed.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to use common office tools.
• Professional verbal and written communication in the English language.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process requests for patient health information in accordance with company and facility policies.
• Maintain confidentiality and security with all privileged information.
• Maintain working knowledge of company and facility software.
• Respect HIPAA standards and protect patient records.
• Respond to requests for patient records from internal and external sources.
• Answer inbound/outbound calls and assist with patient walk-ins as needed.
