Qualifications

• Minimum one year HIM experience in acute care setting.
• Accurate alphabetic, numeric, and/or terminal-digit filing skills.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of State and Federal regulatory requirements for medical staff documentation.
• HIPAA privacy and security knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Verify and ensure receipt of all medical records upon discharge, prep, scan and index.
• Act as liaison for physician offices and hospital staff; assist with timely, accurate documentation.
• Analyze medical records for chart completion deficiencies per regulatory requirements.
• Assist with chart completion and suspension processes as needed.
• Coordinate workflow on EHR systems and processes; monitor quality for EHR integrity.
• Provide customer service to physicians, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality.
• Assist with Cancer Registry reporting and newborn processes as needed.
