Southeast Mississippi Rural Health Initiative, Inc. is seeking a Health Center Manager to supervise daily operations and lead staff in a patient-centered clinic setting. This role emphasizes effective communication with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues while upholding organizational policies and standards.

The Health Center Manager will oversee scheduling, records, billing support, and performance evaluations, ensuring timely services and compliance across all center functions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Good typing skills and knowledge of computers.
• Must demonstrate an ability to supervise personnel.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills to prepare reports and follow-up with minimal supervision.
• Capability to convey and enforce policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the ability to supervise the Health Center staff
• Demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines
• Audit and monitor the Center’s accounts receivable and billing/collections procedures
• Conduct staff performance evaluations effectively and timely
• Lead monthly staff meetings and provide Administration with minutes
• Order and maintain clinic and office supplies
• Interact professionally with hospital personnel and agencies
• Assist with special projects as directed
• Oversee Sliding Scale application approvals
• Process mail promptly
• Verify Health Center journals daily
• Demonstrate organizational skills
• Accept and convey constructive criticism
• Maintain a neat and orderly Health Center
• Maintain equipment in working condition
• Handle difficult staff and patients
• Prepare for meetings in advance
• Follow procedures for all requests
• Handle business confidentially
• Notify Administration of staffing problems
• Communicate with Administration promptly
• Be willing to work front desk as needed
• Answer the phone as a backup to front desk
• Oversee insurance eligibility verification for all patients
• Maintain regular attendance
• Adhere to internet, email and computer policies
• Make bank deposits promptly
• Maintain open lines of communication with providers and staff
• Adhere to and enforce organizational policies
• Maintain journal errors at or below acceptable level
• Maintain prompt and regular attendance
• Verify timecards at end of each pay period
• Counsels employees on areas of improvement by completing trainings and PCN’s timely
