Job summary

State of North Carolina is seeking Health Care Technician I to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at Murdoch Developmental Center in Butner, NC. The role includes assisting with ADLs, coordinating community outings, and delivering behavior support under supervision.

On-the-job and classroom training will be provided, and a sign-on bonus may be offered to eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and carry out behavior support and coaching techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with residents and coworkers.
• Ability to anticipate hazards and perform duties safely.
• Ability to document observations and recommendations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities and community outings.
• Teach recreational skills and support participation in community activities.
• Provide support for individuals with I/DD with complex medical or behavioral needs.
• Follow training in First Aid, NVCI, CPR, and body mechanics; pass physical requirements.
