Job summary

Legacy Lifecare VNA/Hospice is seeking a Music Therapist to deliver personalized music therapy sessions for patients across our Boston-area network. The role is PRN with 5-20 hours per week and pays $50 per visit, supporting comfort and quality of life for end-of-life care.

Applicants should have an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in music or related fields, experience with hospice or long-term care, and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in music, education, human services, or related field preferred.
• Prior experience with end-of-life patients or in a long-term care setting preferred.
• Experience performing music in healthcare, senior living, hospice, or community settings.
• Experience working with older adults, individuals with dementia, or patients receiving palliative or end-of-life care.
• Ability to communicate fluently in English – both verbally and written.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual music therapy sessions tailored to patient preferences and goals.
• Use music to address relaxation, pain management, emotional processing, developmental support, and end-of-life/bereavement needs.
• Collaborate with patients, family members and other team members to align with the patient's overall care plan.
• Coordinate care across Legacy Lifecare location network (various facilities).

• Collaborate with patients, family members and other team members to align with the patient's overall care plan
• German Center (West Roxbury), ANRC (Jamaica Plain), Stone (Newton), BCL/Kaplan (Peabody) Revere, East Boston, Everett, Malden, Chelsea, and Winthrop.
