Job summary

Legacy Lifecare VNA/Hospice is seeking a licensed Music Therapist to deliver personalized sessions for patients across multiple locations in the Greater Boston area. This PRN role offers flexible daytime hours and pay per visit, with travel to patient homes or hospice facilities.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in music therapy with MT-BC certification and English fluency, plus experience with end-of-life or long-term care settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in music therapy or related field.
• Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC) from an AMTA-approved program.
• Prior experience with end-of-life patients or in a long-term care setting preferred.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to patient homes or hospice facilities.
• Ability to communicate fluently in English—both verbally and written.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual music therapy sessions tailored to patient preferences and goals.
• Address relaxation, pain management, emotional processing, developmental support, and end-of-life needs with music.
• Collaborate with patients, family members and team to align with the care plan.
• Serve multiple locations including West Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, Newton, Peabody, East Boston, Everett, Malden, Chelsea and Winthrop.

Music Therapist | Legacy Lifecare VNA/Hospice

$75/per visit (licensed)

PRN | 5-20hrs per week | Flexible Daytime Hours

Delivering Solutions That Matter

• Deliver individual music therapy sessions tailored to patient preferences and goals
• Use music to address relaxation, pain management, emotional processing, developmental support, and end-of-life/bereavement needs
• Collaborate with patients, family members and other team members to align with the patient's overall care plan
• Coverage area includes German Center (West Roxbury), ANRC (Jamaica Plain), Stone (Newton), BCL/Kaplan (Peabody) Revere, East Boston, Everett, Malden, Chelsea, and Winthrop.

• Bachelor's degree in music therapy or related field
