Job summary

Hotwire Communications in Tampa seeks a Headend Engineer to lead construction, operation and maintenance of headend facilities. You will install, wire, label and configure gear while monitoring IPTV services and coordinating with NOC and other engineers to resolve issues.

Applicants should have an Associate's degree and at least 3 years in telecom or RF/satellite, with strong headend, networking and video standards knowledge. Driver's license required and benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Engineering, Telecommunication, RF, or equivalent certifications.
• Minimum of 3 years related telecommunication/RF/satellite experience.
• Strong Head-End knowledge and computer-related skills.
• Understanding of IPTV, IP multicast, video codecs and standards.
• Valid state driver's license and clean record.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Visio; Excel preferred.
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN; Ethernet, fiber and coax wiring.

Responsibilities

• Lead headend construction, operation, maintenance and support.
• Install, wire, label and configure equipment.
• Monitor IPTV services and linear channels for quality.
• Design, build and maintain structured wiring in facilities.
• Coordinate with NOC and engineering teams for issues and maintenance.
• Develop preventive maintenance and replacement schedules for power and HVAC.
