Job summary

Gallup-Mckinley County Schools seeks an Athletic Coach – Head Track Coach for Navajo Pine High School. This on-site position requires leadership of the track program, coaching athletes, and ensuring safe, effective practices within a Spring Sport contract.

The ideal candidate holds an Athletic Coaching License (7-12), a high school diploma, and must obtain the coaching license and complete NM Fundamentals of Coaching exam.

Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport.
• Must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and stay updated on new theories.
• Must serve as a positive role model for student athletes through actions and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Reports to athletic director with objectives and evaluation.
• On-site attendance is mandatory.
• Supervises staff of high school and middle school coaches.
• Instructs athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and physical training.
