Job summary

Gallup-Mckinley County Schools is seeking an Athletic Coach for Boys Track at Navajo Middle School. The role involves organizing a comprehensive sports program, supervising coaches, and guiding athletes in fundamental skills and team strategy.

The coach must hold or obtain an Athletic Coaching License (7-12) and complete the Fundamentals of Coaching online exam with NM PED. On-site work for the spring season is required.

Qualifications

• Organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Head coach must have substantial knowledge of the sport and adapt to new theories.
• Coach should be a positive role model for student athletes.
• Continue to upgrade knowledge through coaching clinics and observations.

Responsibilities

• Instruct athletes in fundamental skills and strategies for success.
• Provide practice support and guidance to ensure team competitiveness.
• Coordinate with athletic director and principals; supervise staff of coaches.
• Work evenings and weekends as required.
