Job summary

Child, Inc. seeks a Teacher Aide to join our Head Start classroom team in Austin, TX. The role supports teachers in planning engaging activities for children ages 3-5 and helps maintain a safe, stimulating learning environment.

The position is a 10-month contract (August through June). Qualified candidates have a CDA or an Associate degree in ECE/Child Development, CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• CDA credential required.
• Associate in Early Childhood Education or Child Development acceptable.
• Three (3) months of experience with children 3-5 preferred; must work at any center/location.
• Certified in Pediatric CPR and First Aid within 30 days of employment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Must have valid driver's license and insured automobile.
• Must obtain physical and TB test and pass background checks and E-Verify.

Position Purpose

Teacher Aide is a member of the classroom team and helps plan and initiate meaningful learning activities for Head Start children ages 3-5 years. The Teacher Aide assists the teacher in conducting classroom activities, maintaining classroom environment, and supervising children and may also assist in planning and record keeping and other classroom related duties. (This is a 10-month position August - June)

Minimum Qualifications

• Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential required
• Associate in Early Childhood Education or Child Development also acceptable
• Three (3) months of experience working with children 3 5 years preferredMust have the ability to work at any center regardless of location
• Must be certified in Pediatric CPR and First Aid within 30 days of employment
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
• Must possess valid driver's license and insured automobile
• Must obtain a physical and TB skin test and must pass all criminal history background checks and E-Verify
