Child Inc. is seeking a Teacher Aide to support Head Start classrooms for ages 3-5 in Austin, TX.

This 10-month role runs August through June, focusing on assisting the teacher with activities, maintaining a positive learning environment, and supervising children. The ideal candidate will have a CDA or an associate degree in ECE/Child Development, CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days, and be able to work at any center.

Qualifications

• CDA Credential required.
• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development accepted.
• Three months of experience with 3–5 year olds preferred; must be able to work at any center.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in planning and initiating meaningful learning activities.
• Maintain a safe, organized classroom environment.
• Supervise Head Start children ages 3–5 during activities.
• Assist with planning and record keeping and other classroom duties.

Job description

Position Purpose

Teacher Aide is a member of the classroom team and helps plan and initiate meaningful learning activities for Head Start children ages 3-5 years. The Teacher Aide assists the teacher in conducting classroom activities, maintaining classroom environment, and supervising children and may also assist in planning and record keeping and other classroom related duties. (This is a 10-month position August - June)

Minimum Qualifications

• Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential required
• Associate in Early Childhood Education or Child Development also acceptable
• Three (3) months of experience working with children 3 5 years preferredMust have the ability to work at any center regardless of location
• Must be certified in Pediatric CPR and First Aid within 30 days of employment
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
• Must possess valid driver's license and insured automobile
• Must obtain a physical and TB skin test and must pass all criminal history background checks and E-Verify
