Job summary

Child, Inc. seeks a Teacher Aide to support Head Start classrooms for children ages 3-5. You will assist the lead teacher with planning activities, maintaining a positive classroom environment, supervising students, and supporting records and planning as needed.

This 10-month position runs August through June, based in Austin, TX. Qualifications include a CDA or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, CPR/First Aid within 30 days, and willingness to work at any center location; bilingual

Qualifications

• CDA Credential required.
• Associate in Early Childhood Education or Child Development acceptable.
• Three months of experience with children 3-5 preferred; able to work at any center location.
• Certified in Pediatric CPR and First Aid within 30 days of employment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and insured vehicle.
• Must obtain a physical and TB test and pass background checks and E-Verify.

Job description

Position Purpose

Teacher Aide is a member of the classroom team and helps plan and initiate meaningful learning activities for Head Start children ages 3-5 years. The Teacher Aide assists the teacher in conducting classroom activities, maintaining classroom environment, and supervising children and may also assist in planning and record keeping and other classroom related duties. (This is a 10-month position August - June)

Minimum Qualifications

• Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential required
• Associate in Early Childhood Education or Child Development also acceptable
• Three (3) months of experience working with children 3 5 years preferredMust have the ability to work at any center regardless of location
• Must be certified in Pediatric CPR and First Aid within 30 days of employment
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
• Must possess valid driver's license and insured automobile
• Must obtain a physical and TB skin test and must pass all criminal history background checks and E-Verify
