Job summary

Child, Inc. is seeking a Teacher Aide to support a Head Start classroom for children aged 3–5. The role involves assisting the lead teacher with planning activities, maintaining a safe, engaging classroom, and supervising children throughout the day.

The position is 10 months (August–June) with opportunities for growth, and a commitment to inclusive, family-centered early childhood education. Bilingual skills and CPR/First Aid certification are valued assets.

Qualifications

• CDA Credential required.
• Associate in Early Childhood Education or Child Development required.
• Three (3) months of experience working with children ages 3–5 preferred; must be able to work at any center/location.
• CPR and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and insured automobile.
• Must pass criminal history background checks and E-Verify.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in planning and initiating meaningful learning activities for Head Start children ages 3–5.
• Assist in conducting classroom activities and maintaining a productive learning environment.
• Supervise children and assist in planning and recording keeping and other related duties.

Job description

Position Purpose

Teacher Aide is a member of the classroom team and helps plan and initiate meaningful learning activities for Head Start children ages 3-5 years. The Teacher Aide assists the teacher in conducting classroom activities, maintaining classroom environment, and supervising children and may also assist in planning and record keeping and other classroom related duties. (This is a 10-month position August - June)

Minimum Qualifications

• Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential required
• Associate in Early Childhood Education or Child Development also acceptable
• Three (3) months of experience working with children 3 5 years preferredMust have the ability to work at any center regardless of location
• Must be certified in Pediatric CPR and First Aid within 30 days of employment
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
• Must possess valid driver's license and insured automobile
• Must obtain a physical and TB skin test and must pass all criminal history background checks and E-Verify
