Job summary

The Center for Human Services - Missouri is seeking a Head Start Teacher to create rich learning environments for infants and toddlers, engage families in readiness goals, and implement approved curricula and assessments. You will collaborate with families and staff to support children's development across all domains in a community-based setting.

The role requires an associate degree (bachelor’s preferred) and ongoing professional development, with some evening meetings to accommodate working

Qualifications

• Minimum of an associate degree in a related field and experience with children; bachelor’s in child development/early childhood preferred or in progress.
• Continuing training classes required to broaden professionalism and skills.
• Background screening including fingerprinting is required prior to hire and every 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Oversee learning environments and instruction for students based on their needs across social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
• Engage families in school readiness goals and activities.
• Follow Head Start ELOF, standards, and policies; develop and implement lesson plans reflecting parent input.
• Maintain schedules including group activities, meals, and transitions with high-quality care.
• Ensure proper documentation and communication with families via multiple channels.
