Job summary

The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis Inc. is seeking an Early Head Start Teacher to support our Head Start/Early Head Start program.

You will plan and conduct classroom activities, provide individual developmental experiences for children, and oversee health, safety, and welfare of students. Required credentials include a CDA or equivalent focusing on infant/toddler development; an AA in Early Childhood Education or Child Development preferred.

Qualifications

• CDA credential or comparable infant/toddler focus.
• AA Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development preferred.
• Knowledge of state/federal regulations on child abuse and licensing.
• Confidentiality must be maintained.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Ability to plan and direct classroom activities.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Health exam, TB screen, Hepatitis A vaccine, and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct classroom activities giving individual developmental experiences.
• Perform classroom teaching duties.
• Ensure health, safety, and welfare of children.
• Direct Teacher Assistants and parent volunteers.
• Promote parent involvement in the classroom.
