Job summary

Qualifications

• Provide a TVCCA Staff Statement of Good Health signed by a physician or nurse practitioner within 12 months and refreshed every 36 months.

Job description

The Teacher Aide is responsible for the care, supervision, and safety of classroom children. The role includes assisting staff in planning and implementing age‑appropriate curriculum, maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly classroom and playground, and supporting the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child. Compassion and understanding for the diverse needs of children and families from various cultural and economic backgrounds are essential; the candidate must learn, implement, and follow all program policies and procedures and encourage self‑esteem and independence among students.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Reliable, insured transportation.
• CT child care first‑aid, child CPR, and medication administration certification (must already hold or obtain and maintain).
• Provide a TVCCA Staff Statement of Good Health statement signed by a physician, physician’s assistant, or nurse practitioner, completed within twelve (12) months before the date of employment, and refreshed every thirty‑six (36) months for current staff.
