Job summary

TVCCA - Thames Valley Council for Community Action, Inc. seeks a Teacher Aide to care for classroom children, support development, and assist with curriculum planning.

The role emphasizes safety, inclusivity, and a positive learning environment in a CT community setting. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean classroom and playground, supporting social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development, and encouraging self-esteem and independence among students.

Qualifications

• Compassion and understanding for diverse families and backgrounds.
• Must have or obtain and maintain CT child care first-aid, CPR, and medication administration certification.
• Provide a TVCCA Staff Statement of Good Health signed by a physician or nurse practitioner within 12 months and refreshed every 36 months.

Responsibilities

• Care, supervision, and safety of classroom children.
• Assist staff in planning/implementing age-appropriate curriculum.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly classroom and playground.
• Support the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child.
• Encourage self-esteem and independence.
