Job summary

Poppy Bank is seeking a substitute teacher at Ohkay Owingeh Education & Disability Services. Under the direct supervision of the Education & Disability Service Manager, you will supervise students before, during and after school, follow the teacher’s lesson plan, and continue with the educational objectives for the grade being substituted.

Ensure safety and maintain order in the classroom, playground, and cafeteria.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision in the absence of the regular education Teacher.
• Ability to follow and execute daily Teacher lesson plans.
• Maintain safety and order of all children in the classroom, cafeteria, or playground settings.
• Follow the regular school day’s start and end times.
• Contribute to the educational process while substituting to minimize the loss of instruction during the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
• Submit logs as necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
