Job summary

South Central Missouri Community Action Agency in Missouri is seeking a Head Start Director to lead overall program management, compliance, and coordination with the Policy Council. You will provide information and support to the Policy Council and oversee front-line staff to meet program goals.

The role requires development of planning processes, budgets, and funding applications, plus ensuring accurate records and reporting.

Qualifications

BS degree in education, early childhood, child development or related field.
Knowledge of management theory, practices and methods.
Ability to prepare funding proposals and budgets.
Knowledge of laws and funding source regulations.

Responsibilities

Achieve or exceed overall goals of the project.
Develop plans, work plans and budgets.
Prepare funding applications for submission to sources.
Develop and monitor project budgets and ensure expenditures stay within allocations.
Secure resources to meet federal grant requirements.
Maintain program and participant records and submit required reports.
Implement agency policies within the project and comply with funding requirements.
Stay informed about legislative and technical developments.
Supervise and evaluate management staff and assign work.
Plan and participate in public information programs to raise community awareness.
