Job summary

YMCA of the East Bay is hiring Preschool Teachers to create warm, inclusive learning spaces aligned with Head Start standards.

Responsibilities include planning activities, observing children, using data to tailor instruction, and collaborating with families to support development. Requirements include an AA degree or higher, and relevant permits; English proficiency is essential and bilingual candidates are valued.

Qualifications

• Requires AA degree or higher for Head Start roles.
• Current Child Development permit at Associate Teacher level or above.
• 12+ ECE units; infant/toddler units with grade C or above for Early Head Start.
• English communication proficiency; bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create developmentally appropriate learning environments following the Creative Curriculum.
• Plan activities, observe and assess children, use data to individualize instruction.
• Partner with families to support learning and progress.
• Record progress in the designated online system with notes and work samples.
• Attend meetings and trainings to maintain current permit.
