Job summary

YMCA of the East Bay in Winters, CA is seeking an on-call Head Start - Early Childhood Impact teacher for on-site work. This part-time, hourly position supports high-quality early education following Head Start standards and California regulations.

Responsibilities include developing curriculum, observing children, parent conferences, health and safety compliance, and reporting progress. The role requires an AA or higher, and current Child Development permit, with English communication

Qualifications

• AA degree or higher is required or preferred for Head Start settings.
• Current Child Development permit at Associate Teacher level or above.
• 12+ ECE units (Early Head Start 6 units infant/toddler) and ability to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement curriculum goals aligned with the Creative Curriculum and Head Start standards.
• Plan and facilitate lessons, supervise children, and maintain safe activities.
• Conduct home visits and parent/teacher conferences annually.
• Document child progress and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure health, safety, and licensing requirements are followed.
