All Kids Academy Head Start, Inc. is seeking a Head Start Teacher Assistant to support teachers in a preschool classroom. You will help deliver a comprehensive program addressing educational, emotional and health needs to prepare children for school success.

Under supervision, you will assist with learning activities, maintain a safe environment, and collaborate with families and staff to promote student readiness and well-being.

Qualifications

• 12 semester units of Early Childhood Education or Child Development
• 6 months of work experience in a licensed Early Childhood Education setting
• Associate Teacher Permit or higher OR enrolled to obtain within 2 years

Responsibilities

• Assist in teaching and learning activities under the direction of the Center Director and classroom Teacher.
• Support a comprehensive Head Start preschool program addressing educational, emotional, social, health, nutritional, and psychological needs.

Summary:Under the direction of the Center Director and classroom Teacher, assist in the teaching and learning activities of the classroom. Assist the teacher in a Head Start preschool setting providing a comprehensive program to meet educational, emotional, social, health, nutritional, and psychological needs of children.

Hours per week: 40

Weeks per year:45

MINIMUM EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

• 12 semester units of Early Childhood Education or Child Development courses; AND
• 6 months of work experience in a licensed Early Childhood Education setting; AND
• Associate Teacher Permit or higher OR are enrolled in courses in order to obtain the Associate Teacher Permit or higher within 2 years
