Job summary

Wyoming Child and Family Development is seeking a Paraprofessional Head Start staff member to support a classroom of children aged 3 to 5. You will assist the Lead Teacher, prepare materials, and provide individualized care to promote social competence and school readiness under Head Start standards.

Responsibilities include implementing lesson plans, assisting with screenings, and collaborating with families and therapists to support IFSP/IEP goals.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate ability to work with children aged 3–5, including those with special needs, and their families.
• Must understand developmentally appropriate practices and early childhood education.
• Strong problem-solving and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse individuals.
• Strong communication with staff, children, families, and community.
• Must have stress management and adaptability; flexible to changing routines.
• Bilingual candidates are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit children for the program in line with guidelines from DHHS and WCFD.
• Implements set lesson plans in various group settings.
• Deliver direct services to children, families, and staff in different settings.
• Communicate positively with staff, children, and families.
• Support children with behavioral needs, disabilities, and/or learning impairments.
• Assist in organizing group socialization activities for families.
