Job summary

The Richmond Head Start is seeking a Cook to prepare nutritious meals for children, assist with ordering, and provide nutrition education to families. This on-site role supports dietary needs and meal planning within the center.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must pass ServSafe certification within two years of hire.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Experience cooking in large quantities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals in large quantities per menu.
• Maintain CACFP records.
• Supervise food service volunteers.
• Communicate dietary needs to staff.
• Keep kitchen and dining areas clean and sanitized.
• Plan and participate in menu planning.
• Provide nutrition education to families.
• Complete weekly and monthly cleaning duties.
• Develop weekly grocery lists and purchase items.
• Keep confidentiality of children's files and health needs.
