Job summary

Save the Children in Jennings, LA, seeks a Cook to support Head Start and Early Head Start programs by preparing and serving meals, following CACFP standards, and ensuring safety and cleanliness in the kitchen. You will work across kitchens as needed and assist with documentation of meals and snacks.

You will manage inventory, coordinate with staff and nutritionists, and adapt menus for dietary needs while maintaining records and delivering meals to classrooms in a timely, organized manner.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and at least 3 years in food service.
• Ability to relate with children and families; strong teamwork.
• Knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food following menus and CACFP standards.
• Maintain inventory and records; supervise equipment and storage.
• Ensure sanitation and safety in all kitchen activities.
• Deliver meals to classrooms and coordinate with center staff.
