LIFT Community Action Agency, Inc. is seeking a Head Start/Early Head Start/EHS-CC Cook to oversee the purchase, preparation, cooking and serving of meals, and to maintain CACFP documentation and kitchen cleanliness on site in Oklahoma.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver license and auto insurance.
• Knowledge of proper food storage, preparation and cooking, recipe usage, weights and measures, and safety practices.
• Basic cooking skills plus experience in food service and volume meal preparation; must read and follow a recipe and cycle menu.
• Superior cleaning and organizational skills.
• Basic math skills and use of calculator.
• Valid Food Handlers Card.
• Background check clearance (OSBI/DHS) prior to hire and during employment as required; no disqualifying criminal history.

Responsibilities

• Plan, formulate, coordinate and implement kitchen management systems in line with USDA, Health Dept., Fire Marshall, DHS, Oklahoma DOE, CACFP and Head Start standards.
• Implement the CACFP cycle menu per policies and procedures and budget.
• Review menus for supplies, purchase and inventory; procure meals and snacks for on-site and field trips.
• Maintain all CACFP paperwork and monthly reports; submit on time.
• Post and maintain CACFP public notices.
• Refer nutrition concerns to appropriate agency staff.
• Clean and maintain kitchen and storage areas per applicable safety standards.
• Ensure a respectful, child-friendly environment; assist non-English-speaking families.
• Document program information timely; participate in staff meetings and trainings.
• Support HS/EHS/EHS-CC and LIFT philosophy; maintain confidentiality; assist in classroom as needed.
• Maintain attendance, records accuracy, and professional conduct; perform duties as assigned.
