Job summary

YMCA of Central Maryland, Inc. is seeking a Health & Nutrition Specialist to lead the planning, implementation, and oversight of health, oral health, mental health coordination, and nutrition services for Head Start and Early Head Start children and families.

You will collaborate with education, family services, disabilities, and operations teams to keep children healthy, safe, well-nourished, and ready to learn.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Nutrition, Dietetics, Health Education, or related field.
• Maintains CPR and First Aid certification.
• Able to lift a child weighing 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate health screenings, immunizations, and exams within mandated timelines.
• Track and report child health data in program data systems.
• Develop individualized health care plans for children with chronic conditions.
• Ensure proper medication administration procedures and documentation.
• Monitor CACFP compliance and nutrition standards across centers.
• Prepare documentation for audits and licensing inspections.
