Job summary

The Y of Central Maryland is seeking a dedicated Y Family Services Manager to lead Head Start recruitment and ensure full enrollment. You will engage families, parents and guardians, and work with community partners to connect services that support child development.

This role emphasizes building trusting relationships, advocacy for families, and coordinating services, with a focus on helping economically disadvantaged children prepare for school and life.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience working with adults in the Human Services or Social Work field.
• Head Start experience preferred.
• Associate's degree in social science, human services or related field or bachelor’s in related field.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Ability to develop partnerships and advocate for families.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement a Head Start recruitment plan to ensure 100% enrollment.
• Establish and maintain a waiting list.
• Advocate for families and develop trusting relationships to connect support services.
• Identify family goals, strengths, and needed services; help parents enhance skills and knowledge for child development.
• Develop community partnerships, coordinate services, and handle reporting.
