Job summary

Southwest seeks a dedicated professional to support Head Start services across seven counties, coordinating enrollment, family engagement, and health screenings. You will conduct home visits, enroll low-income families, and maintain confidential records while coordinating with Health and Nutrition and Family Services managers.

The role emphasizes training delivery, collaboration with staff, and outreach to community resources to enhance services for children and families.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year high school; an AA degree in Social Work, Early Childhood Education, Social Services, Public Administration, or related field preferred
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
• Strong multi-tasking skills
• Experience working with low-income families and social service agencies in the community (preferred)
• Ability to accurately handle detailed and confidential information
• Good written, verbal, and computer skills; ability to provide parent and staff trainings
• Possession of a valid Tennessee driver's license and the ability to be insured at standard vehicle liability rates

Responsibilities

• Be familiar with Head Start program, including Performance Standards, Plans, and Policies and Procedures.
• Attend in-area trainings and participate in competency based training as requested by Family Services Manager.
• Recruit children and enroll low-income families for the caseload; conduct door-to-door canvassing.
• Make periodic home visits to determine family needs and refer as appropriate.
• Monitor enrollment and attendance; submit reports to the Family Services Manager.
• Maintain accurate documentation, data entry, and confidential records for the caseload.
• Coordinate health, mental health, and dental screenings for Head Start children; submit reports to Health and Nutrition Manager.
• Track health follow-up appointments and liaise with community resources.
• Organize and coordinate parent trainings; prepare materials and packets for parents and staff.
• Attend and facilitate Parent Committee meetings and trainings; support fatherhood engagement.
• Collaborate with classroom staff to promote volunteering and community involvement.
• Establish relationships with community agencies to enhance service quality for children and families.
• Perform related duties as requested.
