Job summary

Tri-county Community Action Agency is seeking a Family Advocate to coordinate and facilitate social services and parent involvement for Head Start families. The role emphasizes enrollment, home visits, health monitoring, and community resource connections.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, ensuring child safety, fostering parent and volunteer participation, and collaborating with community agencies to improve quality of life. Strong data entry and Excel skills are required.

Qualifications

• Must have an Associate’s degree in a related field, OR a high school diploma or GED with 15 college credits and complete the Family Development Credential within 18 months of hire.
• Must have a car daily and a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read/write proficiently to maintain proper records; data entry skills required.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, enroll, and maintain daily attendance of Head Start children and families.
• Develop partnerships with families; assess needs and create Family Partnership Agreements; coordinate home visits.
• Maintain confidential records; monitor health status and submit program reports.
• Ensure child safety and report accidents or health concerns; follow conduct standards.
• Promote parent/volunteer involvement; coordinate parent committees and orientation.
• Participate in trainings and staff meetings; support health-related activities for children and parents.
• Perform other duties to promote teamwork in the center.
