Job summary

The Child Center of NY is seeking a Teacher’s Aide to assist teachers in creating responsive, age-appropriate experiences that foster the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth of children.

Collaborate with staff to maintain a well-functioning classroom, ensure safety and confidentiality, and support daily activities and health checks as part of a supportive Head Start team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with children.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
• Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Assist in facilitating classroom activities and field trips.
• Arrange equipment and materials in the classroom.
• Support teacher and assistant teacher in creating developmentally appropriate experiences.
• Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment.
• Maintain files and confidential information.
• Perform other duties as required.
