Job summary

Children's Aid in New York City is seeking a Teacher’s Aide to support the teaching team in Head Start programs. You will assist the lead teacher with lesson planning, implement evidence-based curricula, and help children reach developmental milestones through engaging activities and individualized support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; meet Head Start and NYC requirements.
• Pre-K or Toddler CDA credential required or enrolled to complete within 24 months.
• Minimum of one year experience with infants, toddlers, and/or preschool children; experience supporting children with special needs preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish required or strongly preferred based on program needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teacher in curriculum implementation with age-appropriate activities.
• Prepare materials and organize learning centers and displays.
• Support small group and one-on-one instruction as directed by the lead teacher.
• Maintain accurate records and daily observations of child development.
• Engage families and support ongoing family communication.
