Job summary

Community Action Corporation of South Texas seeks a Head Start Mentor/Coach to observe classroom activities and guide 3-5 staff using Practice Based Coaching and CLASS alignment. The role emphasizes onboarding, developing professional development plans, and delivering targeted trainings to elevate teaching quality in Head Start programs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Head Start Procedure Standards and Head Start School Readiness Goals.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
• Data processing methods, information storage, and information retrieval techniques are required.

Responsibilities

• Mentor onboarding and one-on-one training for new educators.
• Conduct CLASS observations and develop Professional Development Plans with educators.
• Collaborate with program staff to prioritize training and support for children with disabilities.
• Model and implement Practice Based Coaching through observation, feedback, and targeted TA.
• Ensure monthly mentor/coaching meetings and maintain documentation.
• Advise on credentialing, training, and T/TA activities for staff.
