Job summary

Community Council of South Central Texas is seeking a Head Start Teacher Assistant I-IV to support the Head Start Teacher in implementing the program in an assigned classroom and ensuring compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, Texas Minimum Standards for Licensing, and all state and local regulations.

Qualifications

• CDA credential required; may enroll in degree program within 2 years if not yet obtained.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred; background checks required.
• Experience with child development and licensing standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Start Teacher in implementing curriculum and classroom activities.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, stimulating learning environment.
• Participate in lesson planning and individual child assessments.
• Support family engagement and documentation in child records.
• Assist with transitions, meals, and basic daily routines.
