Job summary

Community Action Corporation of South Texas seeks a Mentor/Coach to observe Head Start classroom activities, provide on-the-job guidance, and promote high-quality teaching practices. You will develop professional development plans with educators and align coaching with CLASS domains.

The role requires CLASS reliability, a Bachelor’s in childhood education, 3 years’ experience in licensed centers or public schools, and a Texas driver’s license. Travel to classrooms and trainings is expected.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in childhood education or related field.
• Three years’ experience in either a licensed center or a public school setting.
• Be CLASS Reliable and maintain certification yearly.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Master’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe and assess classroom activities and provide on-the-job guidance and training.
• Create Professional Development Plans with goals and trainings.
• Conduct CLASS observations for newly hired staff.
• Collaborate to prioritize training and mentoring needs across staff.
• Travel to assigned classrooms and participate in trainings and meetings.
