Job summary

CEN-TEX FAMILY SERVICES INC in Elgin, TX is seeking a Center Director to provide overall leadership, administration, and management of a Head Start and/or Early Head Start center in compliance with HSPPS, federal and state requirements.

The Center Director will ensure high-quality early childhood education, family engagement, health, and social services while promoting school readiness and positive outcomes for children and families, directing staff and coordinating services across programs.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in ECE, Child Development, or related field.
• CD Credentials or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Minimum of three years of supervisory experience in ECE.

Responsibilities

• Lead center operations in line with Head Start Act and HSPPS.
• Communicate program goals and outcomes to staff and families.
• Support school readiness across all program areas.
• Oversee implementation of Head Start curricula and assessments.
• Ensure compliance with child screening, assessment, and IFSP/IEP.
• Supervise education, family services, and support staff.
• Monitor center budgets and enrollment, coordinating with fiscal staff.
• Lead monitoring responses and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Policy Council and parent groups.
