Job summary

United Community Action Partnership, Inc. in Willmar, MN, is seeking a Head Start Assistant Teacher to support the Head Start Teacher in creating a nurturing learning environment for 3- to 5-year-olds.

This full-time, union-position role features a 36-hour workweek, 12-month schedule, and competitive benefits. You will help plan engaging activities, maintain records, promote health and nutrition, and step in as a backup for the Lead Teacher while assisting with recruitment and safe

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• At least one year of experience with children ages 3-5.
• CDA credential or Early Childhood Degree or ability to obtain within two years.
• CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Head Start Teacher to plan engaging activities.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
• Lead health and nutrition activities in the classroom.
• Step in for Head Start Teacher as needed.
• Assist with light janitorial duties as required.
• Support recruitment and enrollment efforts for Head Start.
• Safely monitor bus transport to and from the center.
