Job summary

United Community Action Partnership, Inc. in Willmar, MN is hiring a Head Start Assistant Teacher to support the Head Start Teacher, spark curiosity in 3- to 5-year-olds, and help families become active advocates for their children.

You'll plan engaging activities, keep accurate records, assist with health and nutrition activities, and step in when needed. This full-time, union position includes a 9-month schedule and benefits through the agency.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• At least 1 year of experience with children ages 3-5.
• Current CDA credential or Early Childhood Degree, or ability to obtain within 2 years.
• CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Start Teacher to plan engaging, enriching classroom activities.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and attendance.
• Incorporate health and nutrition activities into lessons.
• Step in for Head Start Teacher as needed.
• Assist with light janitorial duties as required; support program operations.
• Assist with recruitment and enrollment efforts for Head Start.
• Safely monitor the Head Start bus and transport children to and from the center.
