The City of Medford is seeking a Director of Veterans Services to lead access to veteran benefits and coordinate services across local, state, and federal levels. The role also involves acting as liaison with veterans’ organizations and planning events.

Responsibilities include managing eligibility determinations, counseling veterans, budget administration, record-keeping, and public outreach. Requires strong leadership, communication, and governance knowledge, with a 35-hour work week.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in human relations, social work, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in social work or veterans service administration.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience.
• Honorable Discharge from Active duty other than training.
• Class D Driver's license required.

Responsabilidades

• Meets with veterans, spouses, and dependents to determine eligibility for financial, medical, and administrative assistance.
• Provides screening and counseling and refers veterans to appropriate agencies.
• Processes applications per federal/state guidelines and tracks deadlines for reimbursements.
• Administers the departmental budget and maintains records and reports for city/state agencies.
• Publicizes and promotes services and programs to veterans via media, events, and presentations.
• Organizes memorial activities (Flags on Graves, parades) and coordinates with federal/state agencies as needed.
• Performs other related duties as required.
