Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation seeks a Chief Engineer – Controls to lead a large engineering team across multiple disciplines. You will plan, direct, and coordinate business and product strategy to ensure alignment with organizational goals, providing coaching for leaders and managing budgets with high-level P&L responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Accredited Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field with 10+ years of related experience.
• Bachelor's or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 12+ years related experience or Master's 10+ years related experience or Ph.D. 5 years.
• Automotive or heavy-duty vehicle background with vehicle control system experiences.
• Strong expertise in suspension control, powertrain control, vehicle stability control, material handling equipment control, or vehicle dynamics real-time simulation.

Responsibilities

• Lead a large engineering team across multiple disciplines and direct strategy alignment with organizational goals.
• Provide coaching and development for leaders including workforce planning and resource allocation.
• Manage department budgets and forecast operating costs with P&L responsibility.
• Collaborate with functional leaders and present technical decisions to executives and customers.
• Lead research on new technologies and establish requirements, timelines, and milestones.
• Direct internal/external project teams on advanced control development and component development.
