Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation in Oshkosh, WI, seeks a Sr. Engineer – Software and Controls Test to develop and execute test plans for vehicle control software. You will build and maintain HIL test benches, peer-review code, and drive testing across simulation and real hardware.

You will advance test infrastructure, integrate ECUs, and support CI workflows while mentoring junior engineers. Occasional off-site travel and relocation support provided.

Qualifications

• Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with three or more years of related experience.
• Hands‑on approach to troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Experience with automotive and embedded communication protocols such as CAN and J1939.
• Knowledge of functional safety, cybersecurity, or safety‑critical embedded development practices.
• Experience testing complex vehicle or distributed control systems.

Responsibilities

• Test high-quality vehicle control subsystem software and develop/execute test plans.
• Design and maintain HIL infrastructure and integrate ECUs into test benches.
• Peer review software and support CI/CD workflows.
• Develop comprehensive test plans to verify safety and reliability.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams and mentor junior engineers.
• Travel off-site as needed to support projects.
