Job summary

Oshkosh AeroTech is seeking a Principal Controls Engineer to join our engineering team to develop and implement control strategies for aviation ground support equipment. You will own PLC programming, HMIs, and subsystem verification across new products and legacy modernization.

You will lead control system development, collaborate with internal teams and suppliers, and provide hands-on troubleshooting in manufacturing and test environments.

Qualifications

Accredited Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical Engineering or related field with five (5) or more years of related experience.
Experience designing and implementing PLC-based control systems and HMIs across complex equipment.
Experience integrating multiple PLC-controlled systems and enabling network communication (SCADA or similar).

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and program PLC-based control systems and HMIs.
Provide hands-on troubleshooting support for manufacturing and test cells.
Collaborate with software engineering and external suppliers on control solutions.
