Gartner is seeking a Director of UX in Stamford, CT to lead a growing team of UX professionals while remaining hands-on. You will shape UX strategy across Gartner’s products, collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Brand, and drive AI-enabled experiences.

The role blends leadership, design work, coaching, and delivery in a hybrid environment. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in UX-related fields, a strong portfolio, and experience guiding AI adoption within UX.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in UX, product design, interaction design, design research, information architecture or related fields.
• 3+ years managing and developing UX professionals.
• Strong portfolio showing end-to-end UX work across discovery to delivery.
• Experience defining UX strategy and leading execution across multiple products.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a growing team of UX professionals across multiple products and experiences.
• Serve as hands-on UX leader while executing strategy and conducting research, ideation, prototyping, and reviews.
• Balance individual contribution with team leadership to ensure delivery and talent development.
• Set expectations for UX quality, accessibility, collaboration, and customer-centered decision-making.
• Establish AI-focused, human-centered UX culture and identify opportunities for AI-enabled experiences.
• Explore and demonstrate AI tools in research, ideation, prototyping, testing, and delivery; guide rapid AI prototypes.
• Develop training and enablement programs while mentoring team members through feedback and design critiques.
• Promote responsible AI design and a culture of continuous learning, user research, and Design Thinking.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Brand, Marketing, and Business teams to translate customer needs into valuable experiences.
• Build a positive, inclusive team environment while leading cross-functional and multi-geographic teams.
