Job summary

Skydio is seeking an experienced Solutions Engineering leader to build and run the Utilities Solutions Engineering team for its Commercial vertical. This role is US Remote with up to 50% travel to support customer engagements, trials, and events.

Reports to the Director, Solutions Engineering – Commercial. The successful candidate will own the utilities problem set, drive technical wins, and represent Skydio at industry events, guiding discovery, solution design, and deployment across utility

Qualifications

• Experience leading technical pre-sales teams for utilities (electric or water) is required.
• Strong understanding of utility inspection payloads and data workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to bridge customers, engineers, and executives.

Responsibilities

• Hire, develop, and retain a Utilities Solutions Engineering team with ramp and career progression.
• Set standard for technical discovery and solution design across multiple utility asset types.
• Own team productivity, capacity planning, and prioritization in collaboration with Sales leadership.
• Develop people through career paths, promotions, and succession planning within the team.
