Job summary

Selective Insurance seeks a senior learning leader to own enterprise underwriting learning and enablement, shaping strategy, governance, and scalable programs across onboarding, training, and technology enablement. You will drive performance data insights, address skill gaps, and partner across regions to align standards with underwriting goals.

The role oversees content development with LOB teams, ensures timely updates, and leads a team of trainers while managing budgets and vendor

Qualifications

• 10+ years in corporate learning, training, or talent development — preferably within P&C insurance or financial services
• 5+ years of leadership/management experience overseeing learning teams and strategic training programs
• CPCU, AU, CPLP, or other relevant professional designations preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise learning architecture for underwriting and related learning initiatives
• Oversee onboarding, trainee, technical, and change-related training programs
• Identify knowledge gaps using performance data and translate insights into interventions
• Measure training effectiveness with metrics tied to underwriting quality and profitability
• Standardize training practices across regions and partner with LOB technical teams
• Align content with guidelines and ensure timely updates with evolving workflows
• Develop change communication strategies for underwriting staff
• Oversee Momentum Trainee and early career programs and roadmap
• Collaborate on vendor tools, IT, and learning tech to maximize delivery
• Lead and mentor the Learning & Enablement team and expand delivery capacity
• Manage department budget and vendor relationships
• Ensure availability during Eastern Time working hours
