Job summary

Selective Insurance seeks a senior leader to direct the enterprise underwriting learning and enablement function. You will own strategy, governance, and continuous improvement of training programs that develop underwriting capabilities and drive business results.

This role oversees onboarding, trainee, technical, and change-related learning initiatives, using performance data to close skill gaps. Working with LOB teams, IT, and Operations, you will align content with underwriting standards,

Qualifications

• Leadership in learning and development within insurance or financial services.
• 10+ years in corporate learning, training, or talent development.
• Experience driving training effectiveness and leading teams.
• Knowledge of P&C underwriting operations preferred.
• CPCU, AU, CPLP or similar designations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs and owns enterprise learning architecture for underwriting.
• Determine delivery methods for learning using multiple modalities.
• Identify knowledge gaps from performance data and audits.
• Measure training effectiveness with business impact.
• Standardize training across regions with leadership influence.
• Collaborate with LOB technical teams to align content.
• Communicate changes to underwriting staff.
• Oversee Momentum Trainee and onboarding programs.
• Partners on tool enablement and LMS management.
• Lead Learning & Enablement team and budget.
• Ensure availability during EST hours.
