Job summary

Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. in Dallas, TX is seeking a Safety Manager to provide strategic leadership for transportation safety, regulatory compliance, and fleet operations.

You will shape safety priorities and align them with operations leadership to protect people and assets. You will lead investigations, audits, and safety programs, establish metrics, and drive continuous improvement across the transportation network to reduce risk and improve performance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSRs, ELDs, Hours of Service, and drug/alcohol testing programs.
• Experience managing transportation safety, regulatory compliance, and fleet programs.
• Experience conducting root cause investigations, incident management, insurance claims administration, and corrective action planning.
• Knowledge of fleet maintenance practices, asset utilization, maintenance compliance, and operational readiness.
• Experience leading cross-functional safety, compliance, and fleet operations teams.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to Safety Team and oversee transportation safety and compliance strategy.
• Oversee Equipment Team for fleet asset management and maintenance compliance.
• Lead DOT safety and regulatory programs per FMCSA policies.
• Manage driver qualification, onboarding, and safety training programs.
• Administer the DOT Random Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
• Lead DOT audits, inspections, and safety reviews; maintain records.
• Direct accident reporting, investigations, claims management, and corrective actions.
• Establish and report key safety metrics including CSA performance and hours of service.
• Develop corrective action and disciplinary programs for safety violations.
• Develop safety initiatives to strengthen safety culture and fleet performance.
• Monitor vendor compliance with company safety standards.
• Partner with operations to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
